アメリカのテレビドラマ「13 Reasons Why（１３の理由）」のシーズン１エピソード１。高校生のクレイが自殺したハンナから届いたカセットテープを聞く場面があります。ハンナは、「ルールは二つ。テープを聴いたらそれを他の人に渡すこと。覚えておいてね、私はこれと同じテープを信頼できる人に託してあるの。誰かがルールを破ってテープが皆に行き渡らなかったら、その人がテープを公開してくれるわ。これは思いつきでやってることじゃないの。私をこれ以上甘くみないでね。」というようなことを話します。

take (someone or something) for granted は、
「（誰か/何か）を軽んじる」(to undervalue someone or something)
「（誰か/何か）がいつもそこにある」(to consider something as being innately or unfailingly available)
という意味です。
grant は「授ける」という意味なので、take （受け取る）something (何かを）for granted (授けられたものとして）、つまり「何かをいつもそこにあるものとして受け取る」→「何かを当たり前のことと思う」という意味合いになるのですね。
Don’t take anything for granted.
